Damn Sorry

When you close the door on your life,

And you look back on all those people that you had no time for,

You just feel damn sorry that you didn’t take the time to talk to them.

From your closest relation to your furthest friend,

To the unknown acquaintance or those you never saw.

What could have been if you weren’t so wrapped up in yourself?

You just feel damn sorry.

Every time you try and replay one of the moments in your life,

You always get this picture of how much better it could have been

If you’d not thought about yourself so much.

If you had thought about them.

If I could remember what they had said to me

Half as clearly as what I remember that I said to them,

What a gift that would be.

When you close the door on your life

It doesn’t open again, no matter what you do.

All you can feel is damn sorry

You didn’t hear more,

You didn’t feel more,

You let them all go.

Suicide?
